Vieraslajitalkoot Kivikossa ma 17.6.

Tapaamme Arctic Gym Kahvilassa osoitteessa Savikiekontie 4 klo 16.30 ja klo 17 lähdemme kävelemään kohti kitkentäpaikkaa noin 600 metrin päähän.

Todennäköisimmin kitkemme jättipalsamia, mutta jos sattuu niin onnekkaasti, että kaupunki onkin kyseisen jättipalsamipaikan jo hoitanut, suuntaamme lähistölle kitkemään jotain muuta haitallista vieraskasvilajia.

Palaamme takaisin kahvilalle klo 19. Kahvila on auki klo 20 asti, joten ennen ja jälkeen kitkennän on mahdollista istua kahville tai virvokkeille. Voit myös tulla vain kahville rupattelemaan metsäasioista tai pelkästään kitkemään.

Ota mukaan omat hanskat kitkemistä varten. Esimerkiksi puutarhahanskat tai kumihanskat sopivat hyvin. Pitkät lahkeet ja hihat sekä saappaat ovat myös suositeltavia punkkien ja hyttysten vuoksi.

Huomaathan, että osallistujia ei ole vakuutettu järjestäjän puolesta.

Voluntary weeding of invasive alien plants in Kivikko on 17^th June

We meet at the Arctic Gym Café at Savikiekontie 4 at 4:30 p.m. and at 5 p.m. we start walking towards the weeding site about 600 meters away.

Most likely, we will weed Himalayan balsam (Impatiens glandulifera), but if we are so lucky that the city has already taken care of the Himalayan balsam spot, we will head to the neighborhood to weed some other harmful invasive alien plant species.

We return to the cafe at 7 p.m. The cafe is open until 8 p.m., so there is a possibility to have coffee or refreshments before and after weeding. You can also just come for a coffee to chat about forest issues or just to weed.

Bring your own gloves: for example, garden gloves or rubber gloves fit well. Long legged trousers, long sleeves and boots are also recommended because of ticks and mosquitoes.

Note that volunteers are not insured by the organizer.

Kirje Kivikon metsälle -taidetyöpaja & metsäkahvila Kivikon metsässä

Miltä tuntuisi lähestyä metsää kirjeellä? Jos Kivikon metsä olisi kirjekaverisi, mitä sinä haluaisit kertoa metsälle juuri nyt?

Kirje Kivikon metsälle -taidetyöpajassa pysähdytään aistimaan metsää ja kirjoitetaan henkilökohtainen kirje metsälle. Valmiit kirjeet luetaan kahdenkeskisesti metsälle omassa paikassa ja sujautetaan sen jälkeen muistoksi taskuun. Lopuksi annetaan hetki aikaa kokemusten jakamiselle: mitä ajatuksia ja tunteita kirjeen kirjoittaminen metsälle herätti?

Kokoonnumme klo 14.00 Leikkipaikka Ruutipuistossa, josta lähdemme yhdessä metsään. Tapahtuman arvioitu kesto on noin 1,5 h. Kävelemme metsässä leveän hiekkatien lisäksi myös pieniä polkuja pitkin, joten tapahtuma ei sovellu pyörätuolilla tai rollaattorilla kuljettavaksi.

Työpaja on suunnattu aikuisille ja nuorille, mutta mukaan voi tulla myös alakouluikäiset lapset aikuisen seurassa. Työapajan kieli on suomi ja tarvittaessa englanti. Paikassa ei ole WC-tiloja. Säävaraus: tapahtuma siirretään toiselle päivälle, jos luvassa on runsasta sadetta.

Ota mukaasi oma kynä, jolla on mukava kirjoittaa sekä tarvittaessa istuinalusta. Osallistujat saavat paikan päältä kirjoituspaperia ja -alustan. Letter to Kivikko forest art workshop & forest cafe in Kivikko forest

How would it feel to approach the forest with a letter? If Kivikko forest were your pen pal, what would you like to tell the forest right now?

In the Letter to Kivikko forest art workshop, we sense the forest and write a personal letter to the forest. The finished letters are read face to face to the forest in a chosen place and then slipped into the pocket as a souvenir. At the end of the workshop, some time is given for sharing experiences: what thoughts and feelings did writing the letter to the forest evoke?

We’ll meet at 2:00 pm at the Playground Ruutipuisto, from where we go into the forest together. The estimated duration of the event is about 1.5 hours. We’ll walk along small paths in the forest, so the event is not suitable for wheelchairs or walkers.

The workshop is aimed at adults and young people, but children of primary school age can also come along with an adult. The language of the workshop is Finnish and, if necessary, English. There are no toilets in the place. Weather reservation: the event will be postponed to another day if there is a lot of rain.

Bring your own pen that is comfortable to write with and, if necessary, a seat pad. Participants will receive writing paper and a pad on site. The workshop is directed by visual artist Anni-Maaria Leppänen, who likes to chat with the forest. If you have any questions, you can contact her by email at anni_marjukka@hotmail.com.

In the middle part of the forest, near the art workshop, there is a forest cafe, which is open from 14:00. You can find many kinds of vegan delicacies at the forest cafe!
